The Challenge

How might we make it easier for users to find projects?

User Path

Many users visit this website to complete a capstone project.

A second group of users is directed to this site by their university to find real-world projects
and gain experience in their field of study.

"The search results are frustrating. This website is very unorganized."

"I have to look through a lot of postings that should have been filtered out."

Research

Research shows that university students are frustrated and confused, as they struggle to find their capstone projects and are confused by the search results.

"This website is very confusing."

The Solution

The mobile app allows for quick access to capstones and other real-world projects for students.

The mobile app offers an organized landing page, reducing frustration.

Improved search function raises user engagement and onboarding by over 50%.

Key Features

Organized Dashboard

The welcoming dashboard assures the user that they are on the desired platform. It gives users a quick overview of what the app offers. The capstone projects are separated from the main content.

User Testing

Headings & Buttons

Users took the section headers for buttons and attempted to click on them. I changed the design to show a clear distinction between headers and buttons.

Testemonial

"Excellent. This project shows a thoughtful and user-centered approach, with well-crafted personas and detailed mapping of the user experience. The wireframes demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of usability and flow, and the documentation effectively ties together research, insights, and design. Incorporating user feedback into iterations reflects maturity in the design process and a strong foundation in UX thinking."
